A world of darkness

It’s day three of no power after the hurricane aptly named sandy swung into town. I lost my power at around 7pm the night of the storm. The transformer for my building and many other buildings exploded. The estimated time of repair for us is still two long days away. I have been fortunate enough to make due and with the support and warm abode of a very generous ex husband, the kids and I have been fine. My oldest child is ready to sleep in his own bed but I can’t provide this for him because there is no heat. I hope that the repair will be complete by the second. I have been slowly bringing food over to the ex’s so that it does not go to waste because hat would be a shame seeing how I had just gone shopping the day prior to the storm. I’m at a loss again. I am grateful to have had a warm dwelling to crash at unlike others that I’m sure are in the same boat.
