Young and naive

I watched them from the back camera. I could hear everything that they were talking about. I sat there in silence while he half flirted with her and she gracefully performed hair flips in an effort to keep his attention. I have to admit she was good at this. She gave no warning signs to his girlfriend at all. This, to the girlfriend, was harmless conversation but I saw right through it. She mentioned partying tonight and his eyes lit up like a six year old at Christmas. He asked if she was “trying to party tonight” and she hinted that it were possible. To his girlfriend, he simply said “you don’t want to party tonight, and you don’t want to party with me”. These to me would have been red flags had this been my relationship. She gave no sign of noticing his playful banter with her friend of five years or the signals sent by her “friend”. I feel for this young girl. I feel deeply for her, in many was I was like her but she fails to heed my warning And rightfully so because if I were her, her age I would not listen to anyone either.
